The Greater Atlanta HBA began in 1945 under the name Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Atlanta. It then changed to its current name in 1989 to include a wider variety of members. Since 1945, the association's goal has remained the same, to serve the interests and needs within the homebuilding industry. HBA currently has ten Atlanta chapters and eight specialized councils that address the important issues that professionals face in the housing industry.
Current missions of the Greater Atlanta HBA are to increase profitability, professionalism and consumer value in the housing industry, as well as, to ensure an economically safe building environment. The HBA provides it members with top quality products and services while promoting public policy solutions for the housing industry and the community.
