Teen Fantasy Author Mcnair To Speak At Atlanta Area High School
Local Atlanta author rolls out a new high flying tale about African American super beings
MARIETTA, GA, February 14, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Wendy Raven McNair, author of ASLEEP, a new young- adult fantasy novel about teen love and super beings who happen to be African-American, will speak to students at Independence High School in Alpharetta in February.
Based in Atlanta, ASLEEP is book one of a trilogy that tells the story of a teenage girl who falls for the super new guy in school and - while dealing with familiar ( and not so familiar ) adventures of love and life, unexpectedly finds that she is pretty super herself.
This first novel was released last summer and teen girls and their moms LOVE the book. The book frequently compares favorably to the 'Twilight' series in reader comments and reviews.
Teenagers today are busy trying to figure out how to make their way in the world when sometimes it's hard enough for them to simply figure out who they really are. Most teens have yet to realize their full potential and are still "asleep." This book shares the universal story of teen self-discovery through the life and relationships of an African-American girl, Adisa.
McNair was featured in Cobb Life magazine's BEST OF COBB 2010 issue, and is currently on a multi-event book signing and speaking tour at Atlanta area BORDERS bookstores and high schools.
